Hey friends,

This past year has been tough, but something that I’m grateful for is the fact that in the last year, two of my original songs made it into films! One movie is called Evergreen and it’s a sweet story that features my song “Cheer Up” in a feel-good party scene.

The second film is called before/ during/ after and the director and star is someone very dear to me- Finnerty Steeves. I used to babysit her adorable daughter in New York and she started fundraising for her film at the same time that I started fundraising for my first album, Sweet & Sour. Of course a feature film takes a lot longer to put together! We’ve always supported each other’s art and it meant the world to me that she wanted to use my song “Sweet to Me” in her film.

The movie is AMAZING! I laughed, cried, and felt everything. It’s a beautiful work of art about divorce, love, and personal strength.

Both films have already won multiple awards and been shown at festivals all over the world. It’s a huge accomplishment in a year when everything is virtual and movie theatres are closed! They’ve found a way to get their work out there and these awesome film makers are getting the recognition they deserve!! I’m proud to be involved and associated with such great stories.
