Gatsby Gang Jazz Band

As I write this, in late January of 2025, I want to clear up some misrepresentation of myself and my image. I have worked with the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band many times, as a freelance singer. Commissioned by this company, I did a video that we both use for marketing. I live in Southern California and have performed at events through this group in LA, OC, and San Diego. I am one of the many singers on their roster, and we’re located all over the US.

If you book the band, you always go through Jason, and he then reaches out to the singers and musicians to assemble the band in whatever area you’re in. I have nothing to do with any pre-event communication. I am in some photos and videos on the website and youtube.

I have personally never traveled outside of California for a Gatsby event. It has come to my attention recently that I’m being promised (without my knowledge) at events in far away towns, like Boston and Seattle. I had no knowledge of these promises, even though, in at least one case, my name was on the contract that I would be the singer. I’d never once heard about these specific events.

I am aware of this happening two times, since clients found me and reached out, but I worry it’s happening more often than I’m aware of.

If you booked (or are considering booking) The Gatsby Jazz Band for your event, and if you request me as the singer (or perhaps you’re being sent my name / image as the guaranteed singer that evening), just know that I almost certainly will not be there, and have no knowledge of your event. It’s likely this is also happening with other singers and musicians one may request.

I’m currently over seven months pregnant, and am taking a very intentional break from live performances in the next year. I have nothing on the books with the Gatsby Band going forward.

I really hate the idea of someone thinking I know about their event, and have confirmed my presence, only for someone else to show up, or for the event to be cancelled entirely if I’m not available. I take a lot of pride in what I do, I care so much, and I have spent over a decade of my life working to provide the best vocals, the most talented band, and most professional experience. My reputation means the world to me, and I fear it’s being soiled.

Hopefully this message reaches the right people. I’ve had couples concerned that I’m being scammed or manipulated, and it’s only a matter of time that someone fails to see me as a victim, but as the villain who ruined their wedding.

This entire situation is annoying and a distraction from preparing my life for a huge and wonderful change. I 100% do not want to be writing this. But I really do hope it reaches folks who think they’ve booked me, or would like to book me. I tried getting through to Jason to put an end to this, and I don’t feel he’s hearing me or taking it seriously. So this is my side.
